OT Hi Barry, Paul, and thread, RE: "we are in what's being called a "country club" atmosphere."

And the INTC thread lunches are good too!

RE: "Silicon Investor is losing traffic to free discussion forums such as those on Raging Bull and Yahoo!"

Yahoo has too many spammers. I never read it.

RE: SI traffic

I joined SI the night before SI changed their fee structure (because I knew I wouldn't join once the new fee structure kicked in). So, I think the fee structure that kicked in back then (a bit more than a year ago) is a contributing factor to the reduced traffic, along with SI's policy for not notifying users about subpoena's (that probably turned off users), and of course, a major reason could probably be because there are more portals which compete for eyeballs.

Barry, >Or it may just be a case of fading glory in the fickle world of Internet message boards.

The rise of free Internet message boards hasn't been a boon to everyone -- and one of the victims seems to be Silicon
Investor.

Disturbing trend though. I have to wonder if Go2net is getting anxious over this. It is a business. SI is a habit to me, a good one I think, and not a bad way to spend some time to learn, and contribute. The other boards have a few threads that are better than here, usually because the parallel one here is dead. But Yahoo Intel, e.g., has same nasty lowlifes that make any Intel haters here look like Boy Scouts (or Girl Scouts, Amy). :-)
