No,

It is closed for President's day according to Briefing. It explains the weakness going into the close. No one is willing to hold over the weekend.

Announcing the formation of a new, "Garbage" list.

You may remember I put together a list of major dogs mainly in the software and computer services industry who became despised due to Y2K concerns. Within about 3 months the group of 10 stocks turned in ca. 35% performance and after 6 months that figure was more like 60%.

Now, I'm proposing a new list of most despised financial stocks.

We have to be careful and a bit more patient with this group however because traditionally (i.e. back in 1993=94) this group does not turn around until just BEFORE the last rate hike of the Fed.

If we assume Spanners will have done his dirty work in June, I'm anticipating a move in these stocks in May. Therefore, there's no rush to buy the garbage - you have about a month or so to mull over the decomposing values and decide which ones are for your cellar.

Here's an initial list. I'll put together a full list with values and publish it every fortnight or so once we have our dogs in the kennel.:

FNM
BAC
ONE
JPM
USB
