hmaly: re: Samuel, why would you be in a hurry to buy today. All the stocks are dropping like a rock today.

All of the stars were aligned for a negative market today (double-witching Friday, Greenspan comments and fear of higher rates, trading problems at several online brokers, bad weather in NY, NASDAQ computer glitch long holiday weekend). That's why I bought! :-) I like to buy when everyone's selling, and sell when everyone is buying.

OT on online brokers, I got to put in a little plug for Datek. I don't trade much, so I can't really give a meaningful review, but it's always been reliable for me. The cool thing is Datek will show you the order book on the Island trading system, e.g. the outstanding limit orders on the system for any NASDAQ stock. I think Island is one of the biggest, maybe the biggest ECN.

Unfortunately for readers of this thread, the order book thing doesn't work for NYSE stocks, hence no AMD.

Cheers, Dan.
