johnd-- it seems even 50 million will not stop the bleeding. Now that PLUS a DoJ settlement would do the trick,, first the mkts are sinking as Uncle Al wants and second msft is leading the charge during a period it should be running with W2K out,, This being options day anything can happen,, Tues at 10: I'll start dropping issues that look to have too much to make up before they can perform,,, ge & msft are the 2 at the top of the list...

And yet, according to:

yahoo.marketguide.com

the number of shares outstanding rose about 150,000,000 from 12/31/98 to 12/31/99. Do you know the meaning of the word "dilution?"

JMHO.

"At CompUSA in downtown San Francisco, all copies of Windows 2000 have been sold out and the store is getting lots of
calls from befuddled customers, another sales person said."

This is true for several retailers. Why there is so much
retail interest on Windows2000 is puzzling.
