Even if AMD remains competitive, INTEL can't keep up with worldwide demand now and will beat analysts estimates again and again. I hope INTC rockets up like my other major holding (FOGC) which was on the move today. (.33 to $2 and news isn't even released yet)

GO INTEL!!!

Tony - Re: " , maybe Microsoft will be sharing in some of the heavy lifting re benchmarking from now on. "

Microsoft has a lot of money, time and their FUTURE invested in Windows NT/2000.

They are realizing now that they have to promote it to make it succeed.

And as of last fall, Windows 2000 runs on only ONE architecture - Intel's x86.

All previous CPUs supported by Microsoft are no longer supported - MIPS, Alpha, PowerPC.

So, by default, Microsoft is stuck with Intel's x86 - and the only other options are Intel's IA64.
