Dale,

<Consumer confusion caused by other zinc products that are not clinically proven to work, along with some of these products being discontinued and sold at severely discounted prices>

This quote refers to zinc lozenges that are sold as dietary supplements under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994. It does not refer to Zicam.

From the press release:

<The Company is permitted currently, as in the past, to make advertising claims that COLD-EEZE has been proven, in two double-blind placebo controlled studies at prestigious institutions, to reduce the duration and severity of the common cold symptoms by 42%;>

It's not surprising that Quigley no longer says that Cold-Eeze is the ONLY product that has been proven in two double-blind placebo controlled studies to reduce the duration and severity of the common cold symptoms. Quigley can claim a 42% reduction for Cold-Eeze. Gum Tech can now claim a 78% reduction for Zicam. Which is better? Duh.
