They are not targeting inflation, which is benign, but instead will impose a speed limit on the economy

Someone commented on CNBC (and I didn't hear the whole thing...) that today's (Friday's) WSJ had an article that mentioned that that "off the record" the FED is SPECIFICALLY targetting the stock market.

I didn't see the article, can someone confirm this?

Steve

Cyrus, thanks for your post. You forgot to mention that the writer is Larry Kudlow, chief economist of CNBC:

very good post cyrus!! good stuff!!Thats why i am a firm beliver in staying invested in technology stocks. I try to convince family members to invest or stay invested in technology.I tell them to sell those stupid bank stocks and buy technology.I tell them thats where the money is , and the growth rate is phenemonal.I know this teacher , in montreal and he told me that anyone who graduates in the field of telecommunication , is guaranteed a job. this just tells you how much growth .people underestimate the internet, they cannot see that this growth is phenominal , its exponential and will remain exponential for at least another 2 years minimum. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to understand this , its so obvious.I talked to this guy who works for nortel in a management position , and he makes meeting on the forcast of revenues in nortel.he told me that 15 % of households have internet in north america!! Did you hear me!! I SAID 15 %%%%% !!!And hes talking north america only , where thast the biggest usage of internet so far!! So you tell me how much growth we have left ?? Think about asia , latin america and even europe , africa !!If people cant see this , well they are blind and cant see the future properly!!Those dumb ass analyst , and people that tell me i have to be diversfied in bank stocks and metals , or whatever , know shit all!!I stay invested in in technology for the next 2 years where the real money is .I agree some technolgy stocks are overvalued and some lose money , but the trick is to choose the one with real revenue , like the nortel, cisco, jds, bce, intel , you will make lots of money!!My point in all this post is that , is to tell everyone that most people underestimate the growth potential of the internet.Dont forget only 15 % of household in north america have internet and north ÷america has the highest usage of internet in the world.Look at the internet when u log on sometimes its so slow, thats the traffic , heavy traffic , so when ur internet is slow , just think of jds uniphase and the nortel and the cisco and tell all those dumb ass analysts that tell you have to be diversified in different sector , when I know where the real money is supposed to be made. Goodluck everybody. One last thing this guy I know from nortel said hes so confident on nortel revenues, that he put everything he has on nortel thatts how confident he is.dont be surprised to see nortel at 250 can by this summer, while those stupid bank stocks remain at the same level.

Enough already of the Larry Kudlow kudos. Anybody who can start off their column with a preachy comment like "Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Greenspan" directed at one of the greatest economists in history is a pompous ass. I saw no need to read further.

If Greenspan were a regular guy he'd tell that little creep to take a leap.

People who want to preach at Greenspan should try teaching Michael Jordan how to shoot a jumper.
