Hello scouser,

I'm a little confused on what you are claiming here. Being an engineer/technologist in this space, I'm wondering if you can provide details about your statements.

You seem to be implying that there is a difference in the core technology, protocols, and/or codecs with the RealPlayer vs. RealPlayer Plus. Can you please detail these differences?

I've been using the technology, and working with engineers in this market space for years ... including engineers at RealNetworks ... I'm sure that they would love to hear your expert opinion on the differences ...

Hmmm ... I'm wondering if you can please put some real metrics on your claim of "better quality"? I'd like to get some idea of what you are using for measurements here ...

As for 20 minutes downloading, I'm thinking that you need to get current ... even the Microsoft Media Player plays RealMedia files ... and if it takes that long, you might need to get a new modem ... sounds like you are connecting at 14.4kbps ... ;-)

Been there ... done that ...

Know ... or believe? I'm not sure what the significance is. I know that I am probably missing something big, but what is it that Bill brings to the company?

I've been using WinAMP for too long ... and have written a MP3 streaming server that's compatible. I'll have to take a peek, but does it work with SHOUTcast?

Also, it appears that this is a free product in a huge sea of free MP3 products ... what's the revenue model for this?

> I do believe thats five stars from mp3.com.

Yep ... saw that ... I'll check it out for MP3 playing and see how it compares. But as an investment, I'm trying to figure out how this product will generate or contribute ot revenue ...
