Short treatise on eoe delays. Typically, whenever a product, or in this case data, changes hands, someone skims off some change or introduces more overhead. Did you ever wonder why your 50k modem never receives 56 k into your computer? Overhead. Speed of transmission has little to do with it. That's fundamental physics. Electricity and light travel at the speed of light, albeit slowed somewhat by the transfer medium. The issue is the overhead, and maintenance. Reduce the overhead and maintenance, and offer one stop shopping and the world will beat a path to your door. JGH
