RE: Moissanite

I went to the ONLY moissanite dealer in Asia today (Global Gems & Jewelry, 11/F, Unit A, Cameron Plaza, 23-25A Cameron Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong)

He had nothing over a carat in stock. Said he orders inventory from the main office in Morrisville, CA.

I ordered a 2.30 carat brilliant cut stone for US$ 1,570.00

BTW, I wanted 2.10 or 2.20 (2.3 is a touch too big) but he said you can only get 1.95 or 2.30, nothing in between. Moissanite is cut in millimeters (diamonds are not) as one way to easily tell it apart from a diamond.

If this stone were a VVS diamond of comparable weight it would retail for approx. US$ 24,500 (I'll invest the difference in CREE)
