WOW, when I come up with ideas off the top of my head, they are typically a little radical and premature for the main stream. When I mentioned the "instant rebate coupon" as a means of potentially compensating customers, I assumed this was along these lines.

To think that GMST has already PATENTED this concept is the most compelling case I've heard yet just how forward thinking the company really is. Thanks for mentioning this fact to me.

I've looked for a website for GMST, and have not come up with much. I hear the company is a little discouraged my this fact, have you heard any news on when a site might be up? Also, for purposes of research, have you found any good sites to review the company's patents in summary fashion? Is it just a matter of wading through the 10-K's?

Enjoy the weekend all :o)

Regards, JB

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14 -- Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation said today that it was strongly considering consolidating all its satellite-related businesses into a single company that could provide Internet service from space to nearly the entire globe.

<more>

The News Corporation owns Star TV in Asia, a 40 percent stake in British Sky Broadcasting, and minority stakes in Japan Sky Broadcasting, Sky Latin America, Premiere of Germany, Stream of Italy and Foxtel of Australia.

All of those are expected to be included in the umbrella entity along with the News Corporation's 80 percent stake in the NDS Group, a publicly traded pay-television technology company, and its 20 percent stake in TV Guide International, the company that will be formed when the Gemstar International Group completes its acquisition of TV Guide. Plans for the new satellite company were first reported in today's Wall Street Journal.
