lorrie, like i said, i'm watching all this from afar and i haven't taken the time to dig into all the details of the contestants past. they're all politicians, and i'm sure that if you dig deep enough you will discover examples of reprehensible actions in the past of every single politician alive.
you seem to think that i have made a value judgment in my post. not so. i simply tried to point out what kind of image McCain projects, not how close this image comes to the truth. of course no-one can ever take away from him what happened in Vietnam. probably makes up for a lot in the minds of many people.
still, my main point was actually that a plunge in the stock market would enhance McCain's chances, whereas a continuation of the mania would help mostly Gore.
