No "program" so to speak, just some of the tools & tricks that many analysts tend to use when researching stocks as solid plays vs. short-term candidates.

Fact - the semi cap equip sector is historically cyclical and we're starting the up portion of this usually 4-year cycle: semiconductor.net

Next - take a list of the 200 or so companies that are considered to be in this sector: infras.com

Now it's a simple (but time consuming) process of categorizing all these stocks into subgroups and figuring out which ones appear to be undervalued considering the average PEs of their subgroups. After you've identified the ones that appear to fit this criteria you research them thoroughly.

Brokers and analysts do this all the time, when they notice a "hot stock" one of the first things they do is to check out all the others that are in the same business. The trick is finding the ones that have been temporarily overlooked and investing in them before the rest of the market finds them too. :-)
