John: The whole point of options is to limit the risk...Like you, I'm just as happy not having any additional uncertainty asssociated with taking ownership of the shares at the open on Tuesday, given Friday's scary negative ending! I accept my broker's position graciously, particularly knowing that it works equally and opposite, both ways...for call holders and for put holders. On Fri. call holders got caught while put holders earned a windfall...Over the long hall, I'm convinced it works both ways!
