Quite a few brokerage firms have raised margin on selected stocks, it's their right.
But I don't know if it's made much difference.

Still, I sometimes wonder who are all these people leveraged on margin,
neither me nor my friends who have portfolios bother with it.

I still think it would be very interesting to know how margin usage breaks down in practice
(between hedging strategies, short selling, etc.)

Do any of the credit managers you know have an idea?
