Oh. Just an FYI - I once analyzed a packet net that mysteriously was resulting in incredibly slow keystroke performance.

The thing was that this packet net had key echo from the host, a simple telnet style of interface. Hit a key - host machine sends the key stroke back as a character.

The thing was, that while the pipes on this net were pretty big, when analyzed by the method I showed, the net performance for a bitstream, to host and back, was below 15 bits per second. In short, they would do as well by morse code over HAM radio. And they had spent so MUCH! Millions and millions. But what they had bought was a high throughput pipeline. While what the need was a high performance pipeline.

Used for large file transfers, that sort of thing, it would work great.
