To the thread,

Been watching CREE since it was in the 70's over on the gorilla thread. Became convinced that it was time to pull the trigger, but became distracted (with work god forbid). Stock has runaway from me quickly at this point...(duh). Believe that the pre-tornado CREE has a good shot at reaching gorilla status, and even if it doesn't, will still appreciate considerably in some royal capacity. Chance to get in somewhat early (market cap around 6 billion) and take a shot down the field on something that could be BIG.

However, I would feel completely foolish buying in now in the high 160's understanding the following:

(1) QQQ/Nasdaq in the upper part of its channel, AND
(2) Likelihood of Greenspan raising rates multiple times, AND
(3) Everything on the planet tanking except for the most speculative issues, AND
(4) First cracks in the tech generals (CSCO and the like) starting to appear, AND
(5) CREE possibly having finished its parabolic move

It's always been my philosophy to take advantage of other investor's panic and fear. Looking to do so again in order to enter CREE...techs way overdue to take somewhat of a pounding.

Anyone else think CREE has a decent chance of retracing back to it's last area of congestion (around 145) where it rested...for about a handfull of days? Hoping to begin nibbling there. Looking for some TA help here.

However, I would not be surprised to see the latest move from 110 to 198 get completely erased...parabolic moves like CREE has experienced are usually followed by the same extreme on the downside...many of us only need to look at QCOM or AOL (on its first moonshot). If CREE did retreat to this level, I would be extremelly happy to jump in with both feet.

To be honest, I am somewhat surprised with the complacency on this thread...buying opportunities in the 180's? After a more than a double in how many days? Geez. Seems like a repeat of what was being said on the QCOM thread when that idiot analyst set the target for $1000.

Getting the feeling that now is not the time to be a hero...but looking for a reasonable spot to get in.

Most likely when the QQQ hits its 50 DMA and the DOW starts stabalizing around 10k.

Jealous of all of you already in.

KY

Just saw the gigantic NASDAQ LED sign at Times Square. Very impressive. I don't know for sure if CREE made the LED's in that sign..but the NY Times says it is the largest LED sign anywhere and many more are on the way. Expanding markets:)
Extreme short term support for CREE to me looks like the 130 neighborhood..I doubt if it will fall that low..but the market could bring it down with others. If it appears to be bottoming I will start buying again with both hands..averaging up.
Cheers
Ron
