And Last In The.." What's Wrong With This Picture ". News:3>>>

Let me venture a guess or two...No discussion of ozone layer destruction by irate Americans driving SUV's made in Michigan? Wrong? Ah, than perhaps reluctance to deal effectively with alternative energy sources? Wrong again?....Perhaps Asia is recovering and inflation will hit, no matter what Oil price $20, $30, or $40..no cheap foreign or any goods before election in 2000? Fever is not a disease but symptom...Viva Clinton/Gore !

<<What's Wrong With this Picture>>

I can do better than that.

We're now told that SPR sales can't be used to lower prices because, by statute, sales are only allowed in an "emergency." So the press tells us the reserve "hasn't been tapped since the Gulf War."

I guess I was hallucinating, but I seem to remember during the last election year, 1996, Clinton engineered SPR sales that lasted through 1998. I guess someone just fabricated this link, too. (Or at least the major news services don't seem to have access to it.)

PS I don't blame Clinton for wanting OPEC to pump more oil. I do blame Clinton for damaging the longer term stratgeic interests of the US, time and again, for his personal political benefit. That's a lot of what this bubble is all about.
