Apparently putnam has completed the purchase of 7.5 Million shares of ETEK. If you go to Yahoo and go to the profile for ETEK, it shows Putnam on the top institutional holders. Putnam invested over 1.5 Billion on this, wow.I am assuming that they are buying JDSU at a discount. They probably know that ETEK/JDSU deal will go through, which is a great news for JDSU. Any thoughts/comments?

Didn't I read (or dream?) somewhere that Putman also had a substantial holding in JDSU?

Suspect they are trying an arb play on ETEK. Seems a bullish move, though, for JDSU/ETEK.
