very clear to me
Greenspan intends to attempt another soft landing
last attempt brought us the Asian Meltdown and LTCM fiasco and Russian default

between the lines I read "Greenspan wants a recession"
we are getting early false recession signals in bond market
we are seeing evidence in Dusty Dows of recessionary expectations
nothing will stop the techs and Nasdaq

his speech wreeked of voodoo economic heresy
why doesnt someone challenge these heretic notions?
the press pundits refute and challenge
but not wimpy congressional leaders and bureaucrats though

how about a date with BabyDoll?

<<"He's going to squeeze them until it makes a difference," said Bill Cheney, chief economist at John Hancock. "He's going to keep squeezing until the pip squeaks.">>

What friggin' arrogance on the part of the FED to manage to move the DOW back 9 months in growth -- if this is a gradualist approach, let's pray Greenspan has anti-lock brakes when he really slams the pedal out of frustration. He's pushing on a string with the NAZ (You know QCOM will be retiring its debt in March!) but he's gonna keep pushing and the collateral damage will be ugly. Methinks selling OTM covered calls will be my strategy for a while. Greybeards!!!! Sorry for the rant. Feeling better now. Candide, please pass the light beer! ;0)
