john, we are in america. greed rules here just as in other countries. these are not honest mistakes. they aren't even mistakes. they are well thought out strategies. you are right about "ascribing" business productivity gains to the net. why? they don't exist. they make the consumer much more productive. not the business. the powers that be know this and need to manipulate numbers to try and hide it. greed has blinded so many people that they don't care. they will, but i don't know when. when they do care, though, the end result will be a heavy dose of tough love and economic violence.
