What is it with this country when it seems that the two candidates that will run for the most powerful office in the world both come from the loins of a past President and Senator. Makes a person like myself(middle class) throw my hands up in frustration.Where are the REAL politicians that represent ME.

>>I just ask myself is Bush the best my party can do

Wrong question. The best is often the enemy of the good.

The best ain't available and at least Bush is good. McCain is bizarre.

McCain is on a mission to validate himself against the backdrop of his unsavory past and he's willing to serve as a wrecking ball to anyone or anything that gets in the way of his quest. It's all about McCain. McCain is about as Republican as Wendall Wilkie, who last captured the Rep nom as a media creation.

McCain has no abiding principles, and he's willing to cast about to find any collection that will make him king. That's a very Clintonian take, which is why McCain must admire him.

McCain often makes no sense, one example among many:

- he's for a consumption tax yet wants the internet to be tax free. Do you think he connects any dots? Do you think he cares?
