Hello Gerry,

I did some research on Braintech, as we hadn't
heard of them, but thanks for bringing them to
our attention. Think I can answer your questions
as follows:

> Is IPV aware of this company?

Not until now.

> Does(can) this technology compliment ours or might it be
>seen as competitive?

The machine vision industry can be classified roughly into three groups:
component parts and toolkits, application-specific systems and full turn-key solutions. It looks like Braintech fits into the first group, where they sell a combination image processing board/ software which customers can then integrate into their own assembly lines. Our products fit into both the second(our Bottle Thread Inspection system for Labatt and Molson) and third groups (ADI Systems, Auto Glass Inpsection and CRT Glass Inspection) so we don't have much overlap. We occasionally buy third party boards from manufacturers like Matrox out of Montreal. You may find Matrox to be more of a competitor to Braintech.

>What is IPV's opinion of BNTI's technology?

Never having used it, we're not in a position to judge. If
something changes where we do use it, we can certainly
give you some feedback.

Hope this helps,
