Boonear,

the profile says "Price/Earnings (TTM) 1,395"!

Who's right? I wonder.

Lutz

Focus On Wireless Products

According to the vendor, Ensemble?s new Fiberless? system is the most advanced point-to-multipoint broadband wireless system in a
single platform for carriers using 10 GHz to 43.5 GHz spectrum. This space is heating up rapidly, even without a strong LMDS market so
far, and Ensemble has made a big push with the Fiberless 16000 Base Station, Fiberless 300 Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and the
Fiberless Management System. The suite was designed for both legacy and next-gen services, more differentiated services that can ride on
top of oversubscribed facilities for greater revenue. Its home-grown technology called Adaptix? uniquely combines adaptive time division
duplexing (ATDD) for real-time adjustment of bandwidth upstream and downstream; adaptive time division multiple access (TDMA) for
instantaneous bandwidth on demand user by user; and adaptive modulation to optimize between frequency efficiency and range. Throw in a
bleeding-edge 120 Mbps modem speed and flexible backhaul for interconnection with other backhaul systems, and Fiberless becomes a
more compelling value. The Base Station also adds carrier-class density with over 310 Mbps capacity per shelf and can automatically select
the optimal asymmetry, bandwidth and modulation for hundreds of user bursts. Only ?sold? bits are sent over the air in the most efficient
manner possible. The modular station also runs independent of transport or frequency, handling native form IP, ATM, TDM and SONET
while maintaining various QoS levels. The 300 CPE unit is comprised of a compact multiservice access concentrator and low-profile
outdoor antenna unit. Card-configurable, it can be deployed in an inexpensive minimum configuration to serve individual customers or can
support up to 12 ports in a single chassis.

The Bottom Line: Although there are a number of new wireless transport protocols out there, causing confusion and indecision for
buyers, this suite should answer enough questions to merit strong consideration, especially with a customer win or two and proof of
concept with regards to capacity and backhaul interconnection and compatibility.
