Programs that are bandwidth limited will benefit from a true 64 bit datapath through a processor

Makes sense for for example double floating point operations, but these have always been 64 (or 80) bit. I am not sure if they will benefit from increased datapaths between modules of the CPU.

I guess the area that will be the most lucrative for the database makers are servers (Database, Web, File, various caching servers). What these servers do all the time is process strings. Is there going to be any benefit in handling strings on the 64 bit CPUs?
