I have seen better than 50 ps on a 1M+gate ASIC with this technique.

So its a reasonable approach.

Also AMD and a fremont company had done some work on reducing skew and its effects.

They actually used the skew in different chip areas in some way to eliminate skew effects.

This approach and tool was used in the design of the Athlon i believe.

There were some press on this last year.
