After dealing with some hardworking independent contractors in the last year, I agree with you completely. There are people milking cows (dairying is so godawful that I guess you just have to naturally love it), painting houses, pouring cement, raising chickens, and doing all the more menial things like the janitor's graveyard shift, while guys (mostly guys, I bet) are hunched over computers manipulating figures with clicks of a mouse. Greenspan has done a lot to help bring this situation about. And it won't last.

The woman who empties the wastebasket in my office gets up at 3 a.m. because she has a 25-mile commute to where she is supposed to start work at 5 a.m. She goes about her work with no rancor, envy, or resentment. But some time or other the real workers are going to catch on to this giant scam that lets a small percentage of the population skim off the cream.

As a person who grows a pretty large fraction of his own vegetables himself, does all his own plumbing and electrical work, and even reconstructs roofs on his house, I feel entitled to take a moderately righteous tone, even though it's true that other people's taxes provide most of my income.

Skeets, Greenjeans seems to be doing better with his "destroy legitimate businesses" buttons than with his Whip Inflation Now buttons.
