John: Thanks for the interesting report. When I was a nipper I used to wonder what grown-ups did with their time before radio came along. Later I wondered how the middle-aged (and old) managed without TV. Now I cannot imagine how they managed without the www.

Some of those double, plasma screens and fancy charts and graphs scare me to death. I still think there is merit in picking stocks from the Financial Times over toast and marmalade, and calling in orders to a broker on the telephone once or twice a week.

I'm not convinced the ocean of information on the net actually helps very much.

Pretty shocking to think that a COMPAQ guy would admit that not all things are "to the Internet" let alone admitting that he has never heard of SI.
