They're more clever than to dress in white sheets. But, you know, the University only very reluctantly ever admitted blacks, and still practices the discriminatory policies, set out by Bob Jones who-- fell out with the evangelist Jerry Falwell over the latter's willingness to build relationships with Roman Catholics and Jews. When Pope John Paul II visited South Carolina, Jones remarked that he would sooner speak with the devil than with the pontiff. Sooner speak with the devil! Won't break bread with a man that wants to build relationships with Catholics and Jews. How very enlightened! I would not appear on a dais sitting next to this man if I were seeking to be the leader of all of the people of this country. This may be a joke to you, but it strikes hard at a lot of people of color and belief. And GWB thinks this koven they have set up there in SC is a great place to press the flesh. Tells you much about the man.
