nihil - what you are saying reinforces my point - Intel is much better at moving their agenda forward despite those pressures. It is not philanthropy, it is just good business. But there is no reason to assume that they can't spend advertising or marketing money any way they want... as far as I know, that has not come up in any of the government discussions around either MSFT or Intel. After all, ads and marketing activity are SUPPOSED to advance the case of the sponsor against its competition...
