Paul,

Coppermine issues have been resolved for several months already.

I guess that explains my visit to Fry's yesterday where the entire row of expensive PCs was Athlon, except for a 750 MHz Sony PIII system.

Most of the other price ranges were dominated by AMD as well.

Re: "Comment (2) - Intel will expand its Coppermine/AThWiper shipment advantage from about 2.5 to 1 in Q499 to 5 to 1 in Q12000."

Paul, I believe that number will turn out to be closer to 10:1.

Paulie:

Re: "SpryGuy - Re: "do hope for the sake of Intel investors that top-end production woes get resolved by Q4...I'd hate to see PWeeIII still promising 800's in meaningful quantities by then."

Comment (1) - Coppermine issues have been resolved for several months already.

NG Response (1): That's what Gelsinger was saying back in October '99...Based on your recent posts ($35-11/16's, Feb 2/00 included) as guess you, Paul, can be considered equally credible!

Comment (2) - Intel will expand its Coppermine/AThWiper shipment advantage from about 2.5 to 1 in Q499 to 5 to 1 in Q12000.

NG Response (2): And you continue to be exstatic that a company 60 times the size of AMD can produce only 5 times as many units as the smaller company who has only been producing this particular processor for 8 months, this smaller company that is just in the initial stages of moving up the production curve? As I've said before Paul, don't think I'd brag about that ratio too much...although it does cast Intel in a better light than its pathetic bin splits on PWeeIII 733's and above since October...Really though Paul, that you are ecstatic that Intel can produce 5 times as many PWeeIII's (the bulk being below 733's) as AMD can "spry Athys" suggests to me, once again, that you have lost any and all perspective by exagerating in youir mind (because historical stat's don't mean much in this industry)the importance of historical statisics! Paul, just trying to pry you from your closed universe...forewarned is fore armed!

Comment (3) - Believe Comment (2) - or you will be making an even GREATER FOOL of yourself.

NGResponse (3): Why would I be surprised that Intel, 60 times AMD's size, can produce 5 times as many PWeeIII's as AMD can Athys? If I were an Intel investor, I'd be wondering why they haven't been producing 60 times as many since back in October when they began promising high volume shipments of PWeeIII 733's and above....which brings up another question Paul...what ratio of this ongoing promise of production increases will be at MHz above 733? 'cause it doesn't look to me like the top-end PWeeIII is going to compete at the soon to be sweet spot of 800 MHz as defined by AMD, despite AMD's being only 1/60 the size of the top-end bumbling Intel!
