hi chaz,

percipience. (Hey, is that a real word?)

sent me to the dictionary...the answer is yes. LOL

Would you be willing to share how you find these gems?

lately i have been lucky. is that an answer?

i am a relative newcomer to the Gorilla game. reading all 3 of geoffrey moore's books has helped me immensely. although i do not apply the rules fanatically, i do use them to rule out lots of candidates quickly.

i look for the following:
products that are useful to me or my family. i like to buy the product and try it out. i have several LED lights. i went to a vw and audi dealer at night to see the dashboards.
i bought a tv with gemstar so i could check out the guide. i am very critical about consumer products..if i can touch it and feel it and use it...and like it, i figure others will too.
it is easy for me to understand how longer lasting light bulbs that save energy will have a positive impact on me. i will gladly pay a little extra for that convenience and energy saving.
it is easy for me to understand how GMST makes managing 500 tv stations and my vcr a breeze. as a $10 adder to a tv price, it is a steal.

i like monopolies created by IP with licensing and royalty income.
i look for accelerating revenues and/or a new product that i believe will burst on to the scene. such is the case with CREE and GMST and i have very large positions in both.

some plays i rely on folks that i know i can trust. that is the case with downsouth and NTAP; and uncle frank, voltaire and QCOM. i still do my own dd...but am comforted that they are experts on the company, and i pay close attention to what they say.

IMCL is pure gamble, but came highly recommended...i have a small position from 30.

presently, i am buying one stock...ELON....the value chain building around this little company is enormous. i plan to add more tomorrow...i like this dip and hope for another bad market day so i can add to my position.

my positions right now are cree, gmst, elon, imcl, ntap, qcom, and another little gambler that i am going to sell. i want to add to qcom and elon right here.
i sold sebl at 90 recently because i did not yet understand a few things...i would buy it back even though it is higher.
i also like ctxs a lot.
