Hi Bill - Do you think SUNW's development of the "Jini" plugin storage devise to the network is a possible answer to the next generation of enterprise storage devises?

What's your take on the SANS standard RudeDog discussed up thread?

It appears to me that one future approach is a "server centric" distributed enterprise storage design. You would have to have a very specific and accurate "property" control database similar to what you find in the Novel enterprise network directory software.

It sounds to me that this is more of a software problem than a hardware system design constraint. What companies are out there that provide such a software solution? I wonder if SUNW is talking to any of these companies?
