Stephan, agree on that...i have for some time thought that a recovery might be underway in Japan. but over the past few months the economic data have failed to lend support to that theory. it seems to me that a final shakeout is needed there...something which the governments deficit spending and the ultra-loose monetary policy have helped to postpone so far. however, without a shakeout Japan will continue to muddle through until the government defaults.
what i do not understand to this day is how the Fed could allow the U.S. bubble to get so out of hand with Japan being a continual reminder of the ultimate consequences of such a policy.
oh well, it's too late anyway.
