let me defend my broker. he sort of understands-- or is trying to understand-- the new economy. he doesn't try to talk me out of buying new economy kind of stuff-- didn't blink an eye when i bought my sftbf-- (although he'd never heard of it). he respects my decisionmaking. i used to be at merrill and they always condescended to me. he does understand the new economy enough that he knows he's not really competing against msdw or ml, but against ameritrade and etrade et al. so i'm a satisfied customer.
