I once had lunch with a visiting news crew and they told me they basically shot and editted interviews to match the attention span and educational level of a 4th grader. Perhaps this is why some of the programs come off as exceptionally juvenile in their puns and oversimplifications.

Now if I could only teach my 4th grader to invest...

What we need is the Discovery or The Learning Channel to do a piece on Blood Substitutes. There the programing is geared toward relating interesting topics to a more educated crowd. I'm sure they would have generated computer animation to provide a clearer understanding of the topic at hand. All the network shows bore the crap out of me, thank god for cable!
