Your post is a little out of step with the times.

The past while, there has been a considerable quantity of negative opinion expressed about Microsoft. The comments run across the entire spectrum of this company's endeavours, whether legal, tecnical, marketing, accounting, partnering, or threats from competitors or a changing product landscape. Those opinions, such as expressed in your post, are being overshadowed by the overwhelmingly pessimistic views of the media, analysts, some fellow posters, and even Microsoft executives themselves. How can the public maintain an optimistic attitude toward this company in such an environment? They can't; hence, the recent declining prices.

But, as you've pointed out, this picture is not accurate. Microsoft is a great investment. Microsoft has met challenges and emerged triumphant. Microsoft has a wonderful and profitable future. Microsoft has the ability (agility) to change when needed. But above all, Microsoft has a stock price with considerable appreciation potential. This is the key. Today, or soon, we can acquire a stake in this company which will reward our vision handsomly in the months ahead. (Just don't get greedy!)

As icing on the cake, Microsoft fluctuates enough to enable the nimble trader to profit along with the patient long-term investor. I usually post from the investor point of view, but I do trade a little bit and I've been aiming my recent posts to the traders among us, although an investor with a long-term horizon would enjoy a great entry point too.

Cheers, PW.
