For the last time TOLERANCE has nothing to do with it- I'll say it AGAIN- tolerance has nothing to do with it, tolerance has nothing to do with it-

A true relativist must recognize that all beliefs are group based and have no extrinsic worth so NONE are "better" or "worse" than any others outside of the group, you don't HAVE to be tolerant- but you DO have to believe the above- if you don't you aren't a relativist.

If you want to define relativism differently fine, but they DID believe in the supremacy of their ideas for everyone- people inside and people outside their group, and they certainly didn't believe that all beliefs are equally unfounded in any extrinsic sense, and equally valid to the internal group- there is just no way they were relativists imo.

That is selective moral dictatorship. You can say it was based on relativist principles but EVERYTHING is - everything is group based- you certainly can't prove any belief is not an outgrowth of a group belief system. But to BE a relativist you have to recognize relativism and hold that in your mind along with your other beliefs.
