Jeff: Still puzzled about the future for Primeco.

Seems as if I remember that there were statements that the partners were arguing and that some change in overall ownership was in the cards.

Do you know who is actually running the show now?

Is it possible (likely) that Primeco will be the Bell Atlantic/VOD/Airtouch horse in the PCS race while the Bell Atalantic/VOD/GTE joint venture builds out nationally in cellular?

Any info to clarify Primeco's current and future ownership and plans would be helpful.

Would be great to have two major PCS CDMA build outs - Sprint PCS and Primeco. That kind of competition should help get rapid data up and running faster.

Best.

Chaz

Jeff:

PrimeCo has always been "first,", and it appears they will be first to offer 1X. I think in April they will become part of the VodaBAM monster. Oddly enough, QCOM said the first phones with the MSM3100 will be available then as well. That chipset is able to handle CDMA 800/1900, and AMPS. When I talked with PrimeCo, they mentioned something about having no financial worries because they now have the full backing of VodaBAM. PrimeCo may become the test-bed for the parent company. They do not have a nationwide service by any means, but where they do provide coverage, it is excellent. They have had plenty of time to mature.
