I have never had a problem with Schwab.
I don't daytrade that account though. I only trade long
in it and it is usually only stocks that I hold long and don't bother looking at very close.

Cisco, Schwab representatives will address problems with electronic trading. I have their signature platinum service, so maybe that makes a difference. However, the reliability of their system leaves much to be desired.

I think that one of the things that you may see is that service websites will start selling reliability and service level agreements, much like the telecoms. I will give all of my trading business to the first e-brokerage to offer 5 nines of reliability (up 99.999% of the time).
