>> Oracle Corp., Nokia Oyj and Cisco Systems Inc. are among the 10 stocks recommended by money managers to hold through the decade, the New York Times reported....

Then again, Waste Management was on the list.

I have a friend who bases all of his investing on "expert opinion". Each time he reads an article like the one you linked, he puts $10K into each selection. Needless to say, he hasn't prospered from the Great Bull Market.

Dear Zoltan: Thanks for the article. It is interesting that ORCL is rated number 1. I would like to know what ranking CSCO has. A few of the companies mentioned I have never heard of, probably because they are based outside the U.S.A. One, Jones, the clothing manufacturer, I am familiar with and sure, it might be around in 10 years, but I don't think the same kind of investor who buys ORCL, CSCO, or JDSU (also mentioned) are going to rush out and buy shares of Jones.

This article just goes to show how there is no real consensus on what stocks should be held for the long term. Just last week there was an article, I _think_ posted here, in which CSCO was the only stock analysts could agree on as a stock to hold for the next *5* years.

Best regards,

Lynn
