If Bell Atlantic routers are down, whichever DSL subscribers are connected using those specific routers will experience DSL downtime; in this case, I happen to be one of them.

What I mean is, aren't routers made by someone besides DSL equipment providers? If so, how is that the fault of the DSL equipment provider? It seems to me a separate issue, though indirectly related to the overall problem. No?
