NAw- I knew what you meant. ANd I know you don't want to look like Barbie. Nor do I. It's that our society seem to think we should and it gets worse and worse... and then there's all these damn old men marrying 21 year old girls. (MY PET PEEVE)
We have to work hard to maintain our feelings of self-worth in the face of society's view of us as increasingly invisible.
The reunion show of Mary Tyler Moore and Rhoda while not particularly great theatre, at least was declaring older women are NOT invisible, and are still viable and capable of contributing. Of course MTM IS a Size 2. Maybe even a 0.
She did tell her young boss that the best thing about being 60 was that she no longer worried about or cared what he thought of her. I remember my mother saying that same thing-- that there was great freedom in menopause. ( I use menopause as a sort of handy marker, not necessarily the defining event)

Younger women still have a lot of anger, and I think that's because they still DO care. Could be wrong--- just babbling as the thoughts occur to me.
I'm hungry. I'm going to feed my Butt.
