BID PRICE:

As many people have said, many times over, I can't see TM
being even vaguely interested in the $36 to $40 range, for the reasons:

1) NN has traded much higher in the past and is not
necessarily a lesser company now, taken altogether

2) this is a very frothy market, with all kinds of comms
equipment companies commanding huge prices

I view the news about $36 to $40 prices as pieces of
PR seeded by the acquirer, to give them a bit more time in
the market to acquire shares.

Best wishes,
Jim

ÿÿÿÿ Newbridge growth 40% in a year by year base is Euro-centric.ÿ
ÿÿÿÿÿ In the US -said to be the El Dorado for datacoms-growth is flat.

ÿÿÿÿ The best for Newbridge would be for a "Gang of Three":
ÿÿÿÿ Siemens, ALA and ERICY, buy Newbridge and use it to
ÿÿÿÿ supply its datacoms needs.ÿ
ÿÿÿÿ Siemens/Newbridge Alliance does this already today.

ÿÿÿÿ Picture these sales channels form the Gang of Three selling Newbridge stuff.ÿ
ÿÿÿÿ ERICY mobile machine, ALA strengthÿ in access and Siemens in everything.

ÿÿÿ It would be unbeatable.ÿ

ÿÿÿ Imagine ALA and ERICY that are already partners with Juniper
ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ buying Juniper outright and merged with Newbrdgeÿ to give it IP capabilities?

ÿÿÿÿÿÿ Along these lines Newbridge values should be considered.

TA. I don't like the IR guy quitting as it is hard to get good IR people and ALA takeover is not IMHO relevant to that.

If ALA offers 36 / share in ALA shares, and after a quarter or two the merger is seen as very accretive as we on the thread keep saying, then ALA
will pop back quickly and easily hit 60. 60 * .8 = 48. Plus, ALA is priced in Euros. If Euro rallies to 105 - 110 this year, its like getting a free
dividend to boot. TM should be happy to first show that ALA/NN will work, and thus should be happy with the possibiliy of getting close to 50 by
end of year.

Anyone else watching the incredible amount of money that Siemens is raising? Does anyone here own Siemans? They have announced their
strategic plan. I wonder if after ALA/NN, they in turn merge with what is left of Siemens.
I really think we are only in the first inning of what will be a
very interesting 12 - 18 months.

Patience is required!
