Bob, EMI has stated that:

" In about two months they will start to slowly offer digital singles, kicking off its plan to let all online retailers sell its CDs and cassettes alongside downloads. "

So with EMI offering digital downloads that are encoded in EPAC in just 2 months, then one would have to assume that some OEMs are going to want to get an EPAC capable portable digital music player out sometime over the next few months. A first mover into these next gen music players will have a shot at launching into a pent up demand for SDMI capable devices.

What I mean by that is there are no doubt many consumers out there who are aware that the current MP3 players will not play the coming secure content and are obsolete. These well informed individuals,( like the EDIG shareholders ), will be waiting for the first of the new devices.

Let's hope that is motivation for many OEMs to kick their launch of EPAC players into high gear.

Then again they may be waiting for what's to come at the next SDMI meeting which will be to discuss interoperability among devices. All of us here know how EDIG would solve many of those conflicts.

I think we're getting much closer to all heck breaking loose.
