In my IRA portfolio at Waterhouse I hold 22,000 shares bought in 5 separate Webbroker transactions at prices from $.92 to $2.125. As I remember, the limit orders were expressed in fractions rather than decimals. The commission on each trade of 5,000 shares or less, was $12. My experience with this and other orders is that only limit orders are accepted in thinly traded stocks in IRAs for obvious reasons.
My son also owns 3,500 shares in PCCLF at Ameritrade bought at $2.50 with a telephone order. His commission I believe was more than the ordinary $8 perhaps $25.
