That is why I think there is no real morality (real in the sense of any hard and fast "rules" or natural LAW, or anything one might consider solid). It changes all the time- what I think is reasonable is to hurt the fewest people, the lest amount of the time, and to help the greatest number of people the greatest amount of the time- but even that has to be tempered- because if the whole human race could live a life of ease and comfort if only 1 million humans died- WHO would choose the humans who died? Would one million volunteer to allow billions to live happily? Anyway, it's a problem.
