A key point that I missed until just now re-reading the Gilder Report is that MII will save money for the ISP's and content centers. They will pay lower bandwidth charges since much content will be locally cached and hence only transmitted once, rather than many times.

This ability to play storewidth (Gilder's term) costs against bandwidth costs suggests to me a new technological battlefront that may eventually lead to the acquisition of MII by one of the more aggressive bandwidth providers.

Given effective control of the company by insiders, I expect that this would happen at a price much higher than the current.
