Brian P., you are displaying your complete ignorance!!!

I cited the *exact* portions of the McCain website
which produce the 71% marginal rate in the case
of the family with 4 kids!

The effect varies depending on the number of
kids, so obviously (if you had *any* intelligence)
you should realize that the 71% rate would not
be explicitly stated!

Hell, if the family had 7 kids, their marginal
rate would be 101%!!! How does that grab you???
For every extra dollar earned, the family would
*LOSE IT ALL* plus *OWE AN EXTRA CENT*!!!

I can see the poor father talking to his boss:
"Ummm... no, thanks all the same, but I'd really
rather not have my raise this year..."

Brian P., one more thing....

I actually came to McCain's website and studied it
carefully in hopes of being able to support him.

I actually admire the fact that he cuts taxes and
fixes the marriage tax penalty at least for the
lower brackets.
He fixes both aspects of the marriage penalty:
making the joint standard deduction double the single
standard deduction, and making the tax table breakpoint
levels for joint double the single breakpoint levels.

So, I am willing to give credit where credit is due!
Please stop attacking my motives!

But, I stand by my severe criticism of his tax plan
for increasing marginal rates due to credit phase-outs.
If you really think this is an oversight, then fine.
Why don't you stop attacking me (the messenger) and
bring it up with the McCain campaign if you are an
active McCain supporter?
