voop: Thanks. Guess I should be a little clearer re my interest in Primeco.

Since data is the key element in the future of wireless IMO, I am trying to keep track as best I can of operators' adoption around the world.

Korea and Japan are on track for 1XRTT and HDR.

The situation is not so clear in the US.

Therefore I wondered if the Bell Atlantic/VOD/GTE powerhouse might begin 1XRTT and HDR in their PCS operator Primeco.

Still curious if PCS is more likely to be where these new chips and software are installed first - ahead of cellular.

Seems like using them in PCS is truly a "no brainer" since the capacity issue for residual voice seems less of a potential problem there than with analog and possibly digital cellular. But still not sure about that.

Particularly since 1XRTT doubles voice capacity as well as handle more rapid data, that seems very attractive worldwide where CDMA One is already installed.

But still don't know if cellular gets as high a benefit.to cost ratio as PCS.

Hope someone here can fill us in on that.

Best.
